Did you know that over 1 million selfies are taken every day? Of these pictures, 14% are digitally enhanced to make the subjects look better. While free, photo editing software can certainly enhance our pictures, wouldn’t it be great to get it right when you’re having your digital camera shoot in the first place?
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when digital camera shooting to help you nail your selfie on the first try, and to generally look your best in pictures.
The Head Tilt.
If the subjects of your digital camera shoot–be it yourself or your friends–tilt their heads down and forward a bit, they’ll instantly become more photogenic. This posture accentuates the jawline, which is key. Additionally, have your digital camera shoot’s subjects stick their chins out and down to eliminate the chance of any double chin things from happening.
Act Natural.
It’s only human to want to look at the eye of the lens when having a digital camera shoot, but staring straight at it is a bad idea. It’s much better to look above or below it–but never directly at it. Act natural, not like you’re having your picture taken. Same goes for smiling–do it naturally. Instead of just using your muscles to make a smile, think of something that makes you happy. A forced smile looks, well, forced and unnatural.
Bend What Bends.
Stiffness isn’t flattering. Instead of having your digital camera shoot’s subjects keep their arms at their sides, have them hold their arms just a little bit away from their bodies, slightly bent at the elbows. This makes them look thinner and more hourglass shaped since it creates space. Also, have them bend the knee that’s closest to the camera, shifting their weight to the back leg.
Buying the best camera that digital camera stores have to offer won’t help you take a better selfie, but these digital camera shooting tips will. If you have any questions about how to look your best in a photo, feel free to ask in the comments. Find more on this here.
