They Like Me… They Really Like Me!

31 07 2009

How “great” is it that my blog’s first ever rating is an 8.3 out of 10? I think its pretty darn good if I do say so myself! ;) The blog directory, Blogged.com, has christened my blog with an 8.3 (great) rating based on the following:

“Editor reviews are provided by professional editors who evaluate a blog based on the following criteria: Frequency of Updates, Relevance of Content, Site Design, and Writing Style.” -Blogged.com

HerTechKnowledgy Blogged Rating

I’m very appreciative of this rating and already working on increasing it to a perfect 10! There are so many topics that I can research and publish posts about, but if it does not help anyone in any way; then it’s unnecessary. All I’ve ever wanted to do was fulfill my passion by turning it into something tangible — Something that can be used to empower others. A blog about technology and gadgets may not seem like an empowering tool to some, but it can help to educate others when they have decisions to make. I’m grateful for my God given talent and will work to ensure that they’re continually shared with others.

Thank you for the visits and encouragement! You all never know how much a kind word, comment, email, or text message inspires me to take it to another level. Be Blessed and please know that I welcome your feedback.

Smooches,

LaKeela XOXO

Sorry… I SUCK! ☹

17 04 2009

I sincerely apologize to those of you who have “nudged” me in the past about my lack of blog posts!  Simply putI SUCK!  It’s a part of who I am and I know I have to do better.  You see, the “sucky” part of me is that I get so psyched about the new and unknown, then forge right ahead becoming acclimated to “XY and Z”.  Then once I’ve gotten use to whatever it is that’s captured my attention, I drop it and move on to something else.  I honestly think I have a touch of A.D.D. with a mixture of laziness and a lot of procrastination.  Let that simmer, then throw in a hint of “I just don’t care anymore“, and a dash of “I’m no longer interested“.  If I weren’t in a 18 year relationship with my husband, I’d think I have a fear of commitment!

Therefore, please charge it to my head and not to my ❤!  I know I must do better and will make every attempt to not be a daggone slacker!  Much LOVEMe!

XOXO

To Befriend or Not to Befriend… That’s the Facebook Question!

19 01 2009

It’s simple common courtesy to respond to someone who directly inquires about your well being… Right?  Well, why would you knowingly ignore someone’s greetings and salutations and not respond to them with a simple, “Hello, how are you” even if you don’t mean it?  These and many other Facebook questions are rambling through my head as I try to rationalize why someone wouldn’t respond to a simple, “It’s great to see you on Facebook!  How are you and your family?”

Was my question so personal or left to center that I couldn’t get a simple response?  Even if you didn’t want to respond publicly by writing on my “Wall”; then a simple 3 to 5 word response to my Facebook Inbox would have sufficed!  I mean… Why would you accept my “Friend” request if you had no intentions of communicating with me on Facebook?  Are you just trying to rack up friends, so that you look popular?  Do you need validation from your Facebook network that you are [somewhat] interesting enough to befriend?

This really perplexis me and [kind of] crushes my ego!  If this wasn’t someone who I’d never had personal conversations with; only an occasional “Hi… How are you?”; then that’s to be expected.  However, this individual I’ve known for 10 years and we have shared a good bit of information with each other about home and work.  So why the cold shoulder all of a sudden?

I will be honest… I didn’t consider this person a “friend”, because I don’t use that word lightly.  I consider it an honor for someone to classify me as a friend.  I hold that title with high regard and don’t categorize people unless there’s a TRUE since of friendship.  I’ll refer to you as an acquaintance or from the place/environment from which I know you before I refer to you as a “friend”.  It’s not a title I take or distribute lightly… So, no this individual was not classified as a friend.  Nonetheless, I did respect them as a person and empathized with them on many occasions.  Therefore, I was expecting at least a, “Hello” or “I’m well and so is the family” response.

Anyhoo, I’ve since blocked my profile from this person.  I feel that if you can’t at least extend the same common [online] courtesy by replying to my “greeting” (more than one mind you); then you’re not worthy of being my Facebook Friend!

Right or wrong… What are your thoughts?

XOXO

It’s Inauguration Weekend!

United States of America

United States of America

I’m currently watching the cable news networks (MSNBC & CNN) to watch the Whistle Stop Tour of President Elect Barack Obama & Vice President Elect Joe Biden as they take the 137 mile trek south to Washington DC from Wilmington DE Philadelphia, PA.

I’m so happy to be able to witness this moment; even if only through watching events on TV!  This historic moment stirs so many emotions within me.  I get excited; I want to cry; I smile like the sun is always on me; and I worry like any concerned citizen would about the outcome of these next 4 years!  I’m so proud of what has taken place these past 2 months and have every hope that our country and our world will put all ignorance aside and work towards the common good.  I know there are many haters out there; but I also know that for every hater there’s a kind and descent individual who knows that something better has to be done.

I’m ready to travel this journey we have ahead of us and pray everyday that those in power: federal, state, county and local; do what is right and not bow to the pressures of power and access.  If we all look at the “people” and not the prospect of opportunity; then we’ll all make it out of this okay!

GOD BLESS AMERICA (and the world)!
