If you have an unlocked iPhone (like me) and you cannot get the device to dial your voicemail directly, buy tapping the Voicemail icon; then follow these steps:
Here are the steps to follow which should work using any carrier.
1. You need to first get your carrier’s voicemail number.
2. Tap your iPhone’s Phone icon.
3. Then tap on the Keypad tab.
4. You need to then add the following code: *5005*86*xxx#. Here xxx would be your voicemail number (123 is the code for T-Mobile).
5. After entering the code tap Call.
6. This results in the code being set.
7. That’s it! Now on the Voicemail icon and it should automatically dial your carrier’s voicemail service.
